I don't think French in Africa is that different, but it's a start. Sports and excercise are good to. Pitching, throwing. Frisbee, idk, I hope we can get more ideas brewing in the pot.

I'll think of some more FrenchPod. I'll try not to make this thread die out by giving them little by little.

Mini shows explaining French grammer. Might be a good idea to have these in the grammer/resources section.

Amaury. I have a big request of you. Although you can't make a recorded lesson, I have some big questions to ask of you.
Since I've left Senegal, I've always called my friends back. The only problem is, how do I say these phrases. This would also be a good lesson for the future.
I only have ... minutes left(left is the main word I want to know) on my calling card.
Calling card.
The connection is very bad.
Can you repeat, there's static (the buzzing noise)?
Can you hear me?
Merci encore mon cher ami Amaury. How do you say you are the best? Tu es le meilleur?

Also, how do you say, can you do me a favor?
Also, if the teacher stops you in class, would you say, je vais a poubelle? Could you say, I'm throwing something out like we do in English, (is there like another way to say it?)

Amaury please respond!

All my apologies anugrah,
I missed your last comments as I was checking the messages on the lessons. Let me have a look now :
I only have ... minutes left on my calling card : Il ne me reste que ... minutes sur ma carte. We don't use the same structure in French. Here, the verb 'rester' means 'to be left', 'to remain'.
Calling card (to call abroad) : carte téléphonique (pour appeler à l'étranger)
The connection is very bad : la connection est très mauvaise.
I can't hear very well : Je t'entends très mal.
Can you repeat, there's static (the buzzing noise)? Est-ce que tu peux répéter? Il y a des interférences / il y a des parasites.
Can you hear me? Est-ce que tu m'entends?
Can you do me a favor? Est-ce que tu peux me rendre service?
Yes, "you're the best" is "tu es le meilleur"
And yes, if you're standing in the middle of the class and the teacher catches you, you can say : 'Je vais jeter quelque chose à la poubelle' (I'm going to throw something out) or 'Je vais jeter un papier à la poubelle' (I'm going to throw a paper away).
I haven't been the best on that one anugrah, sorry to have kept you waiting. I'll do better next time.
Je n'ai pas été le meilleur cette fois-ci anugrah, désolé de t'avoir fait attendre. Je ferai mieux la prochaine fois.

It's alright, c'est pas grave
I know you didn't do that on purpose (that would be another good phrase to translate).
Thanks a lot Amaury!

Merci d'être si tolérant et compréhensif anugrah (thanks for being so tolerant and understanding).
Just to make sure that it is clear for everyone, "c'est pas grave" is used in spoken French but is not grammatically correct. The correct form is "ce n'est pas grave". French people tend to omit the first part of the negation (ne or n') when they speak. Another example that you can hear very frequently in France is "Je sais pas" instead of "Je ne sais pas".
The translation of "I know you didn't do that on purpose" is "Je sais que tu ne l'as pas fait exprès".

De rien Amaury,
There's nothing (at least somewhat) free in the world except the French you are teaching me. Haha.
Merci beaucoup Amaury! Je vais (comment on dit, "post) more lesson suggestions (that too) soon.

D'accord anugrah, c'est une bonne idée, même si je ne sais pas si nous allons un jour publier de nouvelles leçons (ok, that's a good idea, even if I don't know if we're going to publish new lessons one day).
'post' se traduit par 'poster', 'annoncer', 'publier'. Mais dans le contexte des commentaires, ce verbe se traduit par 'écrire', 'faire', 'donner'.
Donc ici, tu pourrais écrire : "Je vais faire, écrire, donner d'autres suggestions de leçon bientôt."
