hi2, i'm a little confused with the word attendre, it means to wait isn't it? and s'attendre means to expect?
but why i hear in this dialogue attendre means to expect also?
hmm, am i wrong? thx for explaining!
a bientot...

Salut, Bejebew!
That's right: "attendre" means to wait and "s'attendre à" means to expect something to happen (nb if followed by a verb, it should be a subjunctive). Let me give you some examples, Bejebew:
"Je m'attends à ce qu'il change d'avis." I expect him to change his mind.
"Elle ne s'attendait pas à ça." She wasn't expecting that.
"Il s'attend à ce qu'elle vienne seule" He expects her to come alone.
However, you can also use "attendre" to say "to expect something" i.e. when talking about predictions, anticipations, projections.
Examples: "On attend une baisse des ventes à la fin de l'année" We expect a drop in sales at the end of the year.
