Quand je suis a moi meme, je prefere la musique plus fort. Mais, quand je suis avec mes amis ou ma famille je prefere diminuer la musique, parce que je veux ecouter la conversation.

C'est une leçon très géniale. I love how you incorporated many different ways to say "lower the sound". This is why I will always keep listening to Newbie lessons.
Many years ago, I was leaving a youth hostel in Switzerland very early in the morning, and this girl said "[something I couldn't understand] sans son?" Although my French was limited to "bonjour" and "merci" at the time, "sans son" stuck with me because of the peculiar sound of the phrase. I figured from the context that she was complaining that I was making too much noise, but I had no idea what she said.
Now, I am pretty sure it was "sans son". She was probably asking me if I could get ready without making so much noise.
Are "sans" and "son" homophones?

Hi Sakurasaku, thank you for your comment! "sans" and "son" are not really homophone, but it is right that the pronounciation is quite close!
But regarding to the expression "sans son", I am not sure that it was what the girl said. Indeed, when someone is too noisy, in french, we say " moins de bruit " or " fais moins de bruit "

Je me demande si quelqu'un est capable de reconnaître la chanson qui passe en fond sonore dans le dialogue.
I wonder if anyone is able to find out what song we used as sound effect in the dialog.
Indices : le chanteur est belge francophone / la chanson est sortie en 1977.
Clues : the singer is French-speaking Belgian / the song was released in 1977.

I think I understand about the pronunciations of "sans" and "son". "sans" is like in "anglais" (I think of it as a bit more open sound) and "son" is like "non" (a bit more closed). Am I on the right track?
Amaury, je ne savais pas que cette chanson est si vieille. Je n'ai aucune idée qui l'a chanté, mais je l'aime assez bien.

Et oui, cette chanson a 32 ans. Elle s'appelle "Ca plane pour moi" et le chanteur est Plastic Bertrand.

Non, we don`t use the verb 'tuer' with 'la musique' or 'le son' in French.
We would say : 'Arrête la musique.' (Stop the music)

Hi Icfan,
There is a small difference in the prounounciation of the word "baisser " and "baiser ". The "ss" in baisser is like the "s" of "soldier" in english, and the "s" in "baiser" is like the "s" in "tease".
